IMPORTANT INFO

We are looking forward to celebrating Pete with you! To make sure everything goes smoothly, there is some info you might need to know. This list will be continuously updated.

  • ISLAND FAQ'S

    • Sea Pines - the home of Harbour Town, a Shell Ring, and several parks, is a gated community. The cost is $9.00 Cash Only.

    • The Party Venue (Omni Hilton Head) is located within another gated community - Palmetto Dunes. There is no entry fee, but you will need to tell the guard you are there for the party. If you are already staying within Palmetto Dunes, your hotel should provide you with a pass.

    • The Cross Island Parkway used to be a toll road. It no longer is, so don't worry about having coins for tolls.

  • Hotel FAQ's

    • Do I have to stay at the Omni? Absolutely not! BUT, Pete encourages you to, so you do not have to drive after the party and to facilitate socializing during the stay!

    • Do you have a hotel block at the Omni? Unfortunately, no. The Omni does not do that during peak season, but we encourage you to book there if you are able to for convenience and for socializing during the weekend. Be sure to use discount codes when possible, and note that 55 qualifies for the senior rate at the Omni.

  • Party FAQ's

    • Is there a specific dress code? This is a casual party! Feel free to wear Island appropriate attire such as tropical prints and Hawaiian shirts, but it is not required.

    • What is the weather there like? This is coastal SC in late June. Expect tropical weather. It will be hot, humid, and often a chance of late afternoon showers. Expect highs in the 90s and lows in the 70s.

    • Where is the party? The party will be at the Omni Resort in one of the indoor party "River Rooms" starting at 6 PM on Sunday, June 29.

    • What food and drink options will you have? We are still working out details for the party, but we will probably at least have some mix of appetizers, a pasta bar/station with toppings, and probably something for dessert. We plan to have an open bar with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic selections.

    • Is there any theme? Hilton Head Island is a tropical island - so think beach party, but indoors so we can have air conditioning, food, and a bar!

    • How early should I arrive? Arrive at 6 or shortly after. There's no hard schedule except that we have the room from 6-10.

    • Where should I park? Parking is available in the lots around the hotel.

    • Will there be food options for those of us with special diets? We will do our best to have a buffet with options for everyone. The pasta station will be vegetarian friendly and there will be other vegetarian options. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know using the contact info below or contact Pete directly.

    • Should I bring a birthday gift? Pete asks that you PLEASE not bring gifts. In fact, if you DO bring a gift, Pete may just leave some of his excess possessions at your house in response. Cards are welcome and more than enough. (NO - not gift cards either!) What Pete really wants is an opportunity to see you and spend some time with you.

  • Dinner Cruise FAQ's

    • Isn't there also a dinner cruise? YES! There will be a Sunset Dinner Cruise at 7 PM on Saturday, June 28. Be sure to arrive early, as the ship will depart at 7 PM promptly.

    • How long does it take to get to the ship? The ship departs from Harbour Town - this is back in the private side of the Island. Leave extra time. IF YOU ARE NOT STAYING ON THE ISLAND: Please leave +45min of extra time, as there is only one bridge to the Island, and this time of day it is very likely to back up significantly!

    • Where is this? Harbour Town Yacht Basin in Sea Pines Resort, specifically the Harbour Town Pier. There is a $9 CASH ONLY FEE to get in! This pass if per vehicle per day. Use some of this time to explore the shopping, nature, and even ruins within Sea Pines.

    • What does the Dinner Cruise cost? Nothing (for you). This is just another way for Pete to encourage you to spend time with him. Pete is not above such bribery!

    • What food will be served? There will be a sit-down dinner. You will have the opportunity to select from a few dinner options when we are closer to the event:

      • Roasted Pork Loin

      • Blackened Mahi Mahi

      • Roasted Chicken Breast

      • Pasta Primavera

In addition, you can choose between Key Lime Pie and Flour-  less Chocolate Torte for dessert. There will also be a kids menu with chicken tenders or chicken Alfredo available.

  • How about drinks? There will be an open bar - please plan for a sober driver!

  • Is this a private cruise? Almost. We will have the upper deck of the boat to ourselves, but the lower level will be public. We will have a wonderful waitstaff attending us.

  • Please tell me there is a restroom on board. That isn't a question, but yes, there is.

  • What about the weather? We can guarantee there will be weather in Hilton Head. Unfortunately, we can't predict it - but rest assured; The boat sails rain or shine (except for severe weather), and the upper deck has both a roof and clear plastic covers that can be rolled down to protect us from blowing rain, should it need to.

  • What about dolphins and wildlife? You will probably see them, but there are no guarantees! Dolphins are very common around the area, as well as many tropical and coastal birds
